Carola van Dyke is a Dutch Fibre Artist based on the south coast of the United Kingdom. She creates wall hangings and sculptures with tiny floating stiches. She is inspired by close observation and appreciation of the natural world and replicates that beauty with works of thread, both in bloom and decayed, exploring her fascination with textures, mismatches, colours, layers and light. She is fascinated by 17th & 18th century Dutch old masters. their exuberance, beauty and melodrama play an important role in her work.
